Las Manos de Mujer

March is Women's History Month
a time where we honor the successes and sacrifices of women.

Would you like to see art honoring our passionate and powerful women that fill our community?

As an artist and muralist for over a decade I would like to put my experience and energy into a mural project that will show the strength of women in our area, creating a sense of empowerment and connection to the community of women around them.

I would like to beautify walls in the downtown Rincón area with murals honoring the inspiring & strong women around me.

If you would like to learn more about the origins of this project you can view the Project Proposal here.

Empowered women, empower women.

Mission

Las Manos de Mujer is a public art initiative led by artist Kelly Meagher with the goal of creating colorful murals that highlight the strength of the women in the Rincón area. Through eye catching public art we can honor the sisterhood of business owners, mothers, community leaders and protectors of the environment and culture.

-The magic of women as healers and protectors of our community and environment.

-Puerto Rican culture with specific focus on challenging machismo and gender stereotypes.

Donations

If this sounds like a project you would be interested in supporting, you can easily donate below on my GoFundMe page or if you feel you could help in another way please send me an email and let’s talk!!

I would like this project to be a group effort - for the women of this community to feel some ownership in this mural. A piece of art that has been inspired by their strength and community.

Public art can document history, celebrate identity, and amplify the voices of communities that are often overlooked. It keeps culture visible and alive, helping future generations understand where they come from and what their society values.
